CURTIS TILT believes he will only get better with full-time training after clinching a dream move to – and saying no to Gary Neville!

The central defender, stand-out performer for the Bucks in the North last season, has signed a full-time deal, despite interest from Salford City.

Neville, the England assistant manager, personally called the 24-year-old in a bid to lure him to Salford but he chose North Wales and full-time instead.

Wrexham boss told Tilt he believes the club can challenge for a Football League return next term, and the centre-back wants to be a part of it.

Ambition

He said: “I had some really good offers. I had the chance to play for other clubs in the National League and the , but, once Wrexham made me an offer, it’s where I had to be.

“The reason for that is the history and size of the club. Speaking with Gary Mills just made me want to come and play here.

“I’ve never played full-time before and I can’t wait to be a professional for the first time. It’s always been an ambition of mine.

“This is a great opportunity for me. I trust my ability and I know, with full-time training, I will get even better and hopefully help drive Wrexham to promotion.”

Tilt is the Dragons’ eighth new signing already and Mills isn’t done yet, with more additions planned.

“The gaffer seems like a great bloke,” added Tilt, who has previously played for Halesowen and .

“He is putting a good squad together and the ambition is clear. There is a real buzz around the place and it’s great to be a part of it.”
