KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS boss John Eustace and his coaching team have agreed new deals until the end of next season as Kiddy look to bounce back up to Non-League‘s top tier.
The 37-year-old has enjoyed a promising first season in the dugout and his Kiddy side were sitting third, behind to second place Salford only on goal difference, heading into Saturday’s visit of Alfreton Town.
It looks as if Kiddy will have to navigate the play-offs if they are to return to Non-League’s top flight at the first time of asking but Eustace, head of coaching Matt Gardiner and coach Kevin Phillips have done enough to impress the Aggborough hierarchy.
Following a season of difficulty both on and off the pitch last term, Eustace has guided a youthful squad to 18 wins in the National League North and chairman Colin Gordon was delighted to extend the manager’s stay for a further 12 months.
Kidderminster are looking to the future and you can too. While this year’s Cheltenham festival is just beginning, why not do some research for next year with Cheltenham Festival 2018: understanding odds
Gordon told the club’s website: “I’ve known John for many years and knew that, as an individual, we would be getting a leader and a great professional when we brought him in.
“What nobody knew at that time was the type of manager he would be, and to say he has shown his qualities superbly would be an understatement – his approach his meticulous and his work-rate is phenomenal.
“We’ve been delighted with how things have started and see John and his staff as a big part of the future. We’ve only just taken the first step forward and look forward to making many more together.”
On the rest of Eustace’s staff, Gordon added: “I’ve said previously that we have a backroom team that works tremendously hard but also works very well together as a unit.
“Matt’s experience and knowledge of this league has proved to be as exceptional as we knew it would, and as a coach Kev is making great progress as well – it was really important that we secured each of them.”
Kidderminster have also announced the signing of former Worcester City attacked Daniel Nti until the end of next season.
Nti impressed with Kiddy’s former tenants after signing from Loughborough University back in 2013. He netted 44 times in 130 starts for Worcester before joining York City in the summer.
With the change of management at Bootham Crescent, Nti has found game time hard to come by and joins Kiddy after a loan spell at their league rivals FC Halifax Town.
Nti’s signing was made possible by the ‘Give it 100% Campaign’ and donations from Harriers fans.
Their new signing said: “It is great support – I’ve heard about this and they have helped me get here.
“I’m just grateful to the fans. Hopefully I can bring them some great memories and score some goals for the team.”
