KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS pulled off a award-winning double in December, with Steve Burr and Jamille Matt winning the Blue Square Bet Premier Manager and Player of the Month gongs.
Burr’s side won all five of their league games during the month to finish the year in the play-off places – a fantastic achievement given their disastrous start to the campaign.
Frontman Matt was instrumental in the Harriers’ success, scoring seven times in those five fixtures, including a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Newport County.
Chester cleaned up in the Blue Square Bet North with their boss Neil Young and midfielder Antoni Sarcevic scooping the managerial and player prizes respectively.
Young’s men sit top of the table after a run of 11 straight wins – six of which came in December.
Sarcevic contributed four goals during those six matches, including a 25-yard screamer against Droylsden on Boxing Day, and also pitched in with a number of assists.
And in a month of doubles, Welling United boss Jamie Day and Wings forward Kiernan Hughes-Mason were rewarded for their efforts in the Blue Square Bet South.
The Wings won four out of four league fixtures to remain in touch with leaders Salisbury City and also progressed in the FA Trophy by beating Conference Premier club Woking.
Hughes-Mason was in fine fettle for the Kent side, scoring five times, including braces against AFC Hornchurch and Hayes & Yeading.
