GRAHAM HYDE has taken caretaker charge of Boston United following Jason Lee’s departure yesterday.
The Pilgrims lie tenth in the Blue Square Bet North after 17 games and find themselves five points off the play-off places and a massive points 24 points behind leaders Chester FC.
Their board decided to dispense of Lee’s services on Thursday and club chairman David Newton said: “This was a very difficult decision as Jason has been a good servant to the football club and is a true gentleman.
“However recent results have been poor and it was felt that the required changes to improve team performances and the squad were not being fully addressed.
“We thank Jason for his commitment to Boston United and we wish him and his family all the very best for the future.”
Lee’s temporary successor, 42-year-old Hyde, had been working as assistant boss of the club and takes the reins as the board seek a permanent replacement for the former Nottingham Forest frontman.
The former Redditch United manager’s first game in charge comes away at Vauxhall Motors, who are currently 14th in the league.
