STOCKPORT COUNTY boss Ian Bogie feels his latest signing, striker Kristian Dennis, can emulate the success of Lee Novak.
Bogie plucked Novak from relative obscurity in 2008, signing him from Newcastle Blue Star.
Novak went on to net the Heed a six-figure sum when he moved to Huddersfield in 2009 and has since forged himself an impressive career in the Football League, with a move to Birmingham City agreed for this summer.
And Bogie thinks Dennis, who scored 46 times for Curzon Ashton last season, can prove to be a signing of similar calibre.
Speaking to the club’s website, the Hatters manager said: “Kristian’s goal scoring record speaks for itself, he has been a consistent scorer at every level he has played at.
“He is young, hungry, quick and scores goals and feels he is now ready for the step up to playing for a club of the size of Stockport County.
“As manager of Gateshead I signed a similar local hungry player in Lee Novak, who proved himself at our level before selling him to Huddersfield Town for £150k, I am confident that Kristian will prove to be a similar success story.”
