HISTON boss Brian Page has completed the signing of 21-year-old Omar Beckles.
The young centre-back started out at Championship side Millwall before moving abroad to join the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain.
He returned to England to sign for Boreham Wood in November 2011and remained with them until the summer of 2012 when he moved to Kettering Town.
However, he left the Poppies after just a few months and rejoined Boreham. His second stint with the Wood lasted until February this year when he moved to Billericay Town.
It’s from Ricay that Beckles joins Histon and his new manager feels he will fit in well at Bridge Road.
Speaking to the club’s website, Page said: “Omar is a strong defender, he’s big and powerful and in this League you have to have that strength at the heart of your side otherwise you don’t have a chance.”
