boss Daryl McMahon says ‘s programme notes helped inspire his team to victory on Saturday and take the title race to the final day.

Fleet visited the leaders at the weekend, knowing anything but a win would see Maidenhead crowned champions in front of them.

Despite Dean Inman putting the Magpies in front, goals from Andy Drury and Dave Winfield after the break gave McMahon’s side the three points.

Fleet know they will need to beat in their final game on Saturday and hope Maidenhead fail to win at if they are to earn automatic promotion.

While the Magpies are still clear favourites, McMahon says some notes in the home side’s programme helped his side to victory.

“It inspired us really,” McMahon told Kent Online. “There were a few things, one in the programme, before the game.

“I don’t know who wrote it but ‘we hope Ebbsfleet join us in the next year’. Little things like that I mentioned in my team talk, of course.

“I don’t think we would have done that as a club – nothing is over yet. They still have to go and do a job and so do we, and whatever happens, happens.

“You can’t blame them (for planning the potential celebrations) as it is their last home game as well but you’ve seen my team stand up to it, we weren’t intimidated by it and put in a fantastic performance.”
