PROMOTED Ebbsfleet United have made former Whitehawk striker Danny Mills their first signing of the summer as they prepare for their return to the National League.
Fleet were victorious against Chelmsford City in last month’s National League South play-off final and Mills will be joining them in Non-League‘s top tier.
The striker 26, arrives at the Kent club after deciding to leave Whitehawk following the end of the season – his fifth with the Hawks.
He originally joined from Carshalton Athletic in November 2012 following the Hawks’ promotion to the Ryman Premier and helped them to the league title.
Mills scored 16 times last season as Whitehawk hovered just above the relegation places and was named in the National League South Team of the Season for the second straight year.
In total, the big striker netted 102 times in just over 200 Hawks appearances and has now earned the right to test himself against Non-League’s best.
On departing Whitehawk, Mills said: “I feel that now is the right time for me to move on and further my career elsewhere.
“It has been an amazing five years at the club, through the many highs and the lows it’s been an honour to wear the shirt.
“I wish the football club all the success in the world and will still be checking the results every week!”
