McAuley Heads To Chelmsford City

CAMBRIDGE UNITED have loaned Rory McAuley to as part of his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.

The 24-year-old hasn’t played a competitive game for the U’s since picking up the injury in his side’s 1-0 win at in August.

He is now fit again but needs to get games under his belt before challenging for a spot in the table-topping Cambridge squad.

Rory McAuley CUU’s director of Jez George says a spell with Chelmsford is just what the defender needs.

Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “Rory needs some match time having come back from his ankle injury.  This is a good opportunity for him to get a number of games under his belt between now and January.”

McAuley will remain with the Clarets until January and will be part of their squad that hosts this weekend.
