Conference to be renamed Vanarama National League in major rebranding

THE Conference is set to undergo a major rebrand which will see ‘s top competition be known as The starting from next season.

The plans were announced on BT Sport yesterday, who have confirmed a three-year deal to continue showing games and a new weekly highlights show.

The Conference, which was formed in 1979, will also launch NLTV, a broadcasting channel focused on the competition’s 68 member clubs. The NLTV Broadcasting Academy, which will allow media students to take up work experience, has also been planned.

The name change will also affect the North and South divisions, and incoming league chairman Brian Barwick said: “I am delighted to be joining at this vibrant time with this exciting new branding.

“It offers so much to our existing partners whilst at the same time opening up potential new opportunities. I look forward to steering this great competition to new levels of awareness and visibility.”

Chairman of Vanarama, David Bernstein, added: “My extensive involvement in football over the years has allowed me to be connected with a wide range of initiatives.

“I am particularly excited by this announcement and the Broadcasting Academy is an educational project to which Vanarama is proud to extend its support. We have demonstrated our commitment to football and their communities up and down the country and want to continue working with an organisation whose vibrancy and ethos matches our own.”
