JAMIE DAY has been sacked as manager of big spending Ebbsfleet United after just five months in charge.
Day joined Fleet from Vanarama Conference side Welling United in December to replace Steve Brown but he won just seven of his 20 games in charge.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at St Albans City left Fleet in ninth position and proved to be Day’s last game in charge of the Stonebridge Road outfit.
The club, owned by Kuwaiti Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi, brought in 11 new players during Day’s tenure.
A club statement read: “Manager Jamie Day has been issued notice to terminate his contract. Barry Ashby and Dean Frost have also had their contracts with the club terminated with immediate effect.
“A further comment will be made in due course regarding the future football management structure at the club.”
