Jamie Day sacked by Ebbsfleet United

JAMIE DAY has been sacked as manager of big spending after just five months in charge.

Day joined Fleet from Conference side in December to replace Steve Brown but he won just seven of his 20 games in charge.

Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at left Fleet in ninth position and proved to be Day’s last game in charge of the Stonebridge Road outfit.

The club, owned by Kuwaiti Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi, brought in 11 new players during Day’s tenure.

A club statement read: “Manager Jamie Day has been issued notice to terminate his contract. Barry Ashby and Dean Frost have also had their contracts with the club terminated with immediate effect.

“A further comment will be made in due course regarding the future management structure at the club.”
