ALAN DEVONSHIRE is to remain at the Braintree Town helm for a third campaign.
The former England international took over as Iron boss in 2011 and led them to a 12th-place finish in the Conference Premier last term.
They are on course to better that this time around, currently lying in tenth and able to finish as high as eighth if they win their final game of the season at Barrow tomorrow.
Iron chairman Lee Harding is delighted to have ex-Hampton & Richmond boss Devonshire on board for 2013/14 and told the club’s website: “What Alan, Keith and the players have delivered again this season is remarkable.
“We continue to make progress on and off the pitch and I am proud of what we have all achieved together.
“As a result of our efforts, our football club continues to be a Braintree success story!”
Meanwhile, defender Dean Wells has also agreed to remain at Cressing Road next season.
Wells was recently announced as Braintree Supporters Player of the Year and his manager is pleased he’s staying on.
Devonshire commented: “Deano’s had another great year for us. The fans’ favourite, it’s a great lift for us knowing that he will be with us next season.”
