GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY‘S outgoing chairman Peter Swann says the club’s budget will be cut substantially ahead of next season.
Swann will pay off all the Conference North club’s bills before ending his financial involvement with them in June.
They will then have to rely on the money made by the club and Swann says this equates to around 20 per cent of the budget of 2012/13.
Speaking to the Scunthorpe Telegraph, he said: “The budget for next season will be about 20 per cent of what it has been this season.
“That is the revenue stream the club is actually generating, so that is what will be available to the manager to assemble a squad.
“My involvement with Gainsborough Trinity will come to an end in June when all the bills will be paid up.
“But from there my financial involvement will end.”
