CAMBRIDGE UNITED have added two new faces to their squad ahead of the 2013/14 Conference Premier campaign.
Defender Richard Tait, below, joins the U’s from their league rivals Tamworth, while forward Delano Sam-Yorke arrives from Conference South outfit Basingstoke Town.
Tait, 23, is a former Nottingham Forest trainee who was captain at Tamworth last term. He made over 30 appearances for the Lambs in 2012/13 and helped steer them to a 19th-place finish in the league.
Delano-Yorke has spent the best part of three years with Basingstoke and has an impressive record of 41 goals in 92 games for the Dragons.
He has high hopes for the forthcoming season and told the Cambridge United website: “I’m looking forward to meeting all the players and getting started. Hopefully we can make the play-offs or even win the league next season.”
Tait also feels the U’s are capable of securing a place in the Football League and commented: “From a team point of view we’re looking for promotion, either automatically or through the play-offs.”
