GOALSCORING midfielder Iain Howard has joined Stockport County from Chester.
The 25-year-old has spent the past three seasons with Chester, playing an integral part in their remarkable rise from Northern Premier League Division One North to the Conference Premier.
He made 111 appearances for the Blues over the course of those campaigns, scoring 35 times, and his new manager Ian Bogie feels he will be a huge asset to the Hatters.
Bogie told the club’s website: “Iain is another handpicked player that we have tracked and monitored.
“We are absolutely delighted to obtain the signature of a player who will be a constant goal threat, not only with his own tally but with his assists.”
Howard, formerly of Ashton United, commented: “After a fantastic time at Chester I feel ready for a new challenge and once I knew there was interest, and knowing what a big club this is, I had to come and talk to the gaffer and Alan Lord.
“It came as no surprise to me that County have sold over 1,200 season tickets as the support here tremendous.
“I am looking forward to playing here and hopefully we can emulate what Chester achieved last season.”
