CHESTER FC have signed experienced striker Gareth Seddon from their Conference Premier rivals FC Halifax Town.
Seddon started out at Football League side Bury and went on to feature over 70 times for them between 2001 and 2004.
After leaving Gigg Lane he had spells with Rushden & Diamonds, Padiham and Worcester City prior to signing for Hyde United in 2006.
The 33-year-old enjoyed a fantastic couple of seasons with the Tigers, netting 62 goals in 87 appearances and twice winning the Conference North Golden Boot.
Kettering Town paid an undisclosed fee to secure Seddon’s services in July 2008 and he repaid their faith with 21 goals over the course of the 2008/09 campaign.
Seddon then spent the best part of three seasons with Fleetwood Town, winning promotion from the Conference North via the play-offs in 2010 before helping them secure the Conference Premier title in 2011/12.
He was released by the Cod Army following that title success and subsequently returned to the Non-League scene to join FC Halifax.
The Burnley-born frontman netted 18 times for the Shaymen last term, including two hat-tricks, a experienced another promotion with them, again going up from the Conference North via the play-offs.
