FOREST GREEN Rovers have confirmed the signing of experienced Conference Premier striker Matthew Barnes-Homer.
The 27-year-old, who includes Kidderminster Harriers and Luton Town among his former clubs, spent last term with Macclesfield Town.
He netted 21 times for the Silkmen, including a double that saw the Cheshire outfit knock Championship winners Cardiff City out of the FA Cup.
Barnes-Homer has spent time with Notts County and Alfreton Town this summer but has now put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the New Lawn.
Commenting on the frontman’s arrival, Rovers boss David Hockday said: “In the end, it’s all about putting the ball in the back of the net. That’s what we struggled with at times last season.
“Matthew is an experienced goal-scorer, he adds fire-power plus he’s desperate to come here.”
