SOUTHPORT manager Alan Wright has described new loan signing Richard Brodie as a “major addition” to his squad.
Brodie joins the Sandgrounders from Gateshead and will remain with them until January.
The 26-year-old striker has plenty of Conference experience and has won the Conference Premier title with both Crawley Town and Fleetwood Town.
He has already spent time away from the International Stadium on loan this term, scoring once in eight games for Hereford United.
The former York man has now agreed a switch to Haig Avenue and Southport boss Wright is delighted to have secured his services.
Wright told the club’s website: “Richard Brodie is exactly what we require, he is an established centre forward, with tremendous experience in the Football Conference.
“He is a winner who wants games, he will be a major addition to the squad. I am delighted Richard has agreed to join us and he goes straight in the squad for Aldershot on Saturday.”
Good luck with him Southport, nothing but a disruptive influence when on loan to Grimsby last season!
