MAIDSTONE UNITED have signed striker Zac Attwood while another forward, Ian Draycott, has left by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old spent last season at Hastings United and scored 14 times in 48 games in a campaign that saw the Arrows relegated from the Ryman Premier Division.
He moved to Margate this sumemr and made a bright start for them this term, scoring three times in five starts.
Attwood’s now joined the Stones and his new boss, Jay Saunders, is expected good things from the frontman.
Speaking to the club’s website, Saunders said: “Zac is someone we had an eye on last season and have been watching him closely this season.
“I think we’ve acquired a quality signing. He’s a good age and being in a squad with the likes of Paul Booth and Frannie Collin will only bring on his game and hopefully he can progress with us.”
The departing Draycott arrived at Maidstone from Lewes in May 2012.
He went on to score 13 goals in 41 appearances for the Kent outfit and Saunders paid tribute to his contribution last term, saying: “Draycs has been brilliant for us and scored some vital goals during last season’s promotion campaign.
“He’s a player who wants to play and, after discussing things with him, it was agreed that he will go in search of a club where he’ll get that opportunity.
“I’m sure supporters will join me in thanking Ian and wishing him every success in the future.”
