Barrow manager Micky Moore has left his position as manager at the struggling National League club after just eight weeks in charge.
After Paul Cox mutually terminated his contract with the Bluebirds in late August, Moore took interim charge of the club before signing a two-and-a-half-year deal on September 20.
However, Cox’s former assistant has struggled at Holker Street, with Barrow taking just one point from Moore’s four games at the helm, and they also lost to Shaw Lane in the FA Cup on Sunday.
In a statement on the club’s website, chairman Paul Casson said: “I would like to thank Micky for all his efforts both as assistant manager and as manager.
“We are all disappointed that it hasn’t worked out, Micky inherited a difficult situation and he gave his all towards it. I wish him the best of luck for his future career.
“As a club we will take this opportunity to take full stock of where we are, and ensure we have the right people in the right places for the rest of what will be a tough season.”
Moore’s assistant manager Neil Hornby, who only joined 20th placed Barrow on October 13, will now take caretaker charge of the team.
