Tommy Wright has heaped praise on Darlington‘s latest signing Mitchell Glover, who has turned down an offer from a Football League club.
The Quakers boss reckons the 16-year-old is one of the most exciting and promising young talents in Non-League football.
Glover played for Wright at Nuneaton Town when he just 15 and scored against Boston United in the National League North.
Speaking to the club’s website, Wright said: “I am absolutely delighted that Mitch has turned down a Football League club this week to continue his development working with me and he sees Darlington as the perfect platform for him to showcase his ability and progress as a player.
“There have been numerous Premier League scouts monitoring him over a six month period and I believe this lad will go all the way in the pro game.
“He is fearless on the pitch and is mature beyond his years. He is one of the most technically gifted players I’ve worked with and there is so much more to come from him.
“He will learn so much playing alongside senior players such as Phil Turnbull.”
Glover will be available for selection when Darlington travel to Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday.
