Ipswich Town have recalled Luke Wooldenden less than a month before he was due to be heading to Wembley for the FA Trophy final with Bromley.
The 19-year-old defender joined the club in December and has been a regular in Neil Smith’s side as bid to reach the National League play-offs tomorrow.
On May 20, the Ravens will visit Wembley for the first time since 1949 but Woolfenden will miss out on the opportunity and instead will be on hand for Ipswich against Reading and Middlesbrough.
Smith said: “Luke has been brilliant since he came in, for such a young lad. He’s played a massive part in getting us to Wembley and to be called back to Ipswich’s first team is a big achievement in respect of for his hard work with us.
“Luke will always be remembered and welcome here and we look forward to seeing his career prosper.”
