Chesterfield bring in former Barnet man Curtis Weston

The Millwall youth product played under Martin Allen at the Hive Stadium last season.

Martin Allen has continued his early summer signing spree and has added former Barnet midfielder Curtis Weston on a free transfer.
The Millwall youth product played under Allen at the Hive Stadium last season but left the club this summer after making 213 appearances for the North London side.
Before joining Barnet, Weston had a successful four year spell with Gillingham where he made over 100 appearances, finding the net 14 times in the process.
In a typically entertaining press release, cutting straight to the point, Allen announced the signing on Cheltenham’s official club website, saying: “This morning we have signed Curtis Weston. He is a Champion. Take care, Martin”
Weston becomes Chesterfield’s fourth signing of the week after Shawn Jalal,  Sam Wedgbury and Michael Nelson came through the door at the Proact Stadium on Tuesday.
Chesterfield were relegated from League Two this season after a hugely disappointing campaign. The Spireites  finished bottom of the table, eight points adrift of safety.
