Basingstoke Town sign “born goalscorer” Mitchell Parker

He’s scored 19 goals in 11 games this season for Reading.

Basingstoke Town

Basingstoke Town have signed striker Mitchell Parker from Reading City.
The 24-year-old has also played for Flackwell Heath and has now joined the Southern League South side.
Having already scored 19 goals in just 11 games this season for Reading he also boasts an England call up where he will represent his country in an ambassadorial trip to play two games in the Falkland Islands.
Director of football Terry Brown said: “Mitchell is a born goalscorer. His goals-per-game ratio is quite incredible and we are hoping he can make the step up and get a similar return at this level.
“He showed a real want to come here and it’s been quite an easy process, whilst we know there was a lot of interest from other clubs, I think this club is a really good fit for him. He’ll join an already impressive front line that we have here and whilst he knows there are parts of his game we are going to work on, he is going to be a valuable asset to us this year and hopefully a long time after.”
Parker said: “I wanted to sign for Basingstoke as they have the same ambition as I have. I want to help Basingstoke push forward and continue to improve my game in the process.
“I’m extremely excited to get going, I’ll always do my best to help the team push as high as we possibly can.”
