DEREN IBRAHIM step aside, there’s another goalscoring keeper in town and it’s Spennymoor’s Dan Lowson!
The Moors headed to Evo-Stik NPL Division One North side Radcliffe Borough on Non-League Day for a tricky FA Cup first round qualifying tie.
As always, you need a bit of luck in the Cup but not even Spennymoor boss Jason Ainsley would have expected a goal from his keeper!
Lowson got the ball rolling in the 22nd minute, launching a free-kick from inside his own penalty area that took an unkind bounce and flew over young Radcliffe number one Matty Johnson.
It was just the beginning of an enthralling Cup tie, with the Evo-Stik NPL Premier high-flyers Spennymoor heading home following a 5-3 victory.
Lowson’s extraordinary effort, of course, comes just a week after Dartford keeper Deren Ibrahim netted a similar goal against Hungerford Town in the National League South.
