NATIONAL LEAGUE strugglers York City will have to overcome league leaders Lincoln City if they are to book a place at Wembley in the Buildbase FA Trophy.
The Minstermen, winners in 2012, saw off National League North side Brackley Town 1-0 at the weekend and they have been matched with Lincoln, who are also still in the FA Cup.
The Imps beat Boreham Wood on Saturday and the first leg of the semi-final at York will be played in midweek due to a clash with Lincoln’s FA Cup quarter-final trip to Premier League side Arsenal.
In the other semi-final, Tranmere Rovers will be on the road first, travelling to either league rivals Macclesfield Town or Ryman Premier side Dulwich Hamlet.
Two Step 3 sides – Nantwich Town and Bognor Regis Town – made last season’s last four and Hamlet will have to beat Macc on their own patch in Tuesday night’s quarter-final replay if they want to do the same.
The semi-final ties will take place on Saturday, March 11 (with York v Lincoln’s first leg due to be played on the Tuesday or Wednesday) and then seven days later on Saturday, March 18 with the victors picking up £16,000 and securing a trip to Wembley.
FA Trophy semi-final draw:
1 Dulwich Hamlet/Macclesfield Town v Tranmere Rovers
2 York City v Lincoln City
