MAIDSTONE UNITED are out to continue their FA Trophy giant-killing spree at FC Halifax on Saturday according to boss Jay Saunders.
The Ryman South title chasers upset the odds to beat Blue Square Bet South Salisbury City last time out.
It added another higher league scalp to their list following Trophy wins over Margate, Bedford and Whitehawk.
Now they’ve got the Blue Square Bet North big boys in their sights when they travel to Yorkshire this weekend – and Saunders says his players are revelling in their underdog tag.
Saunders said: “Most weeks we are favourites so it’s nice because you are not expected to win and there’s a bit of pressure off the players.
“We’ll prepare right and if we can do what we did against Salisbury there is no reason why we can’t come away with a result.
“Against Salisbury everyone said, ‘They are full-time, top of the Conference South,’ but we beat them 2-0. On our day we’ve got players capable of winning games.”
