Dorking Wanderers have made their first foray into the transfer market following their promotion to Step 2 by signing midfielder Jake Gallagher from Aldershot Town.
The 26-year-old spent four seasons with The Shots in the National League, making 159 appearances and scoring 10 goal after he had enjoyed a long spell with Welling United.
The midfielder’s performances over the years have also seen him appear in the England C national team.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Dorking boss Marc White said: “We’ve got a fantastic squad and we will be making minimal changes, but as always we take a look at the league above and look to strengthen with players who have competed at that level. Jake certainly fits the bill here given his experience of playing in the National League at Aldershot, and prior to this at Welling”.
White continued: “We think he will fit in to the team and the way we play really well, and we’re delighted that Jake has chosen to join us”.
Meanwhile, after putting pen to paper, Gallagher said, “I am really looking forward to playing football for Dorking Wanderers. They’ve come a long way in a short period of time and I’m really excited to be joining such an ambitious club”.
