Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler has added another exciting talent to his squad ahead of the National League season with the signing of French winger Nassim L’Ghoul on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for Welling United last season as he netted three goals in 25 appearances to help Steve King’s side reach the National League South play-off final.
Unfortunately for the Wings, their season ended in heartbreak after a 1-0 defeat at Woking in the final resulted in them being confined to another season in Step 2.
L’Ghoul’s performances saw him win a place in the National League South Team of the Season, which only served to intensify the battle for his signature this summer.
The Frenchman enjoyed a spell at the Nike Academy, before having trials with Charlton Athletic and Dagenham and Redbridge.
L’Ghoul gained vital Non-League experience with St Neots and Whitehawk, before following King to Park View Road last June.
This move to the Whites will see the winger make the step up to the National League after Dover successfully avoided relegation last year.
A resurgence in form after the appointment of Hessenthaler led to Dover ending up with a credible 14th place finish in Non-League’s highest tier, 16 points above the relegation zone.
