After they dramatically secured promotion to the National League with a play-off final win over Welling United, Woking have been boosted with the news that Max Kretzschmar has signed a new deal with the club.
The midfielder impressed throughout the campaign, netting 15 times in all competitions to help Alan Dowson’s side make an immediate return to Step 1.
The 25-year-old is in his second spell with the Cards, having previously played at Kingfield during the 2016-17 season, where he helped the Surrey-based club maintain their top-flight status.
Kretzschmar came through the youth ranks at Southampton before also enjoying a spell in the academy structure at Wycombe Wanderers, where he eventually went on to make 73 first team appearances, gaining crucial EFL experience in the process.
After his first spell with Woking, Kretzschmar then spent a season under Dowson at Hampton & Richmond Borough where he enjoyed a hugely productive year in the National League South, finding the net 14 times to help the Beavers make their way into the play-offs.
Woking spent most of last season in direct competition with Torquay United for the National League South title but ultimately had to settle for a play-off victory.
