Southport capture

Southport have announced that midfielder Patrick Lacey has signed for the club on an 18-month deal.
Lacey had been playing for the Port on non-contract terms since the middle of December but a number of impressive performances have prompted manager Liam Watson to sign the 25-year-old on an permanent deal.
The hard-tackling central midfielder had a brief stint with Southport eight years ago and has previously enjoyed spells with the likes of Altrincham and Accrington Stanley, as well as achieving National League North success with Barrow in 2015.
Watson told the club’s official website: “To get Paddy on a 18-month deal is great business for the club. He is the type of player every successful team needs, he is a proven winner, his best years are in front of him and even more important I like him as a person and is someone I have known for a long time.”
