National League North play-off chasers Boston United have beaten the looming transfer deadline to bring in 19-year-old midfielder Cameron Hawkes on a loan deal from League One side Bradford City until the end of the current season.
Hawkes is a highly rated player at Valley Parade and despite his young age has featured in two first team games for the relegation threatened League One club so far this season.
The former Sheffield United trainee joins fellow on-loan Bantam Tom Clare at The Jakemans Stadium and could make his United debut against Curzon Ashton on Saturday – new-casinos.uk to find new online casinos in the UK.
If Hawkes does feature in this weekend’s game, he will become the 48th player used by Pilgirms boss Craig Elliot this season, in what has been a rather chaotic campaign at York Street.
Meanwhile, Boston have also confirmed that the loan spell of Grimsby Town winger Max Wright has been extended until the end of the season.
Ahead of the player’s 21st birthday next week, Wright will now spend the remainder of the campaign with the Pilgrims on a standard loan, which includes Grimsby’s option to recall him after the initial 28-day period.
Boston are currently sitting in 10th place in the National League North table following their battling draw at the weekend.
The result has left the Lincolnshire team seven points adrift of the play-off positions with just eight games left to play of the current campaign.
Currently ahead of the Pilgrims lie Chester and Kidderminster Harriers, while Altrincham hold the converted sixth and final play-off position.
Boston’s recent form will undoubtedly be a cause for concern, with Hawkes’ new side having recorded just one win in their last six league games.
