Torquay United to feature in Netflix documentary ‘Losers’

Torquay United

Torquay United are set to become the next stars of media streaming service Netflix.
A documentary reliving one of the most famous tales in the club’s history will reach a worldwide audience next month.
The Gull’s ‘Great Escape’ of 1987 will feature as one of eight episodes recounting stories of sporting redemption in unusual circumstances in a series called ‘Losers’.
Torquay avoided relegation from the Football League on goal-difference when Paul Dobson scored an injury-time equaliser. Bizarrely, the added time was created when a police dog bit defender Jim McNichol.
The New York-based creators Topic Film spent a week in Devon 14 months ago filming the series which will be released on March 1.
