Hednesford Town boss Rob Smith has reinforced his squad today with the loan signings of Gloucester City pair Reece King and Edji Mbunga.
Forward Mbunga had been on loan at Cinderford Town in the Southern League Division One West but his game time has been limited b the club’s FA Cup progress.
As a result the 19-year-old has now joined the Pitmen on a dual registration deal, having impressed Gloucester boss Tim Harris during a trial period this summer.
Midfielder King has signed for Hednesford on a one month loan deal, as he looks to get more regular football. He broke into the first team picture at Gloucester last season having joined from Malvern Town in February of this year.
Harris was eager for his young charges to see first team football, saying: “It’s vital that they are playing regular football at this stage of their careers.
“In Rob Smith and Larry Chambers Hednesford have two very good managers at that level of football and I’ve no doubt they will get the best out of the lads.”
Following the completion of all the relevant paperwork, both players are available for the Pitmen’s game against Altrincham this evening.
