Matlock Town have brought in prolific striker Kieren Watson to boost their attacking options next season.
The 32-year-old frontman hit the headlines during the last campaign when he found the net an extraordinary 52 goals for Division One Northen Counties East side Shirebrook Town.
It is believed that Matlock manager Dave Hoole had to fight off stiff competition to secure the signing of Watson, with several clubs believed to be chasing the signature of the experienced striker.
Watson has represented a range of non-league clubs during his career, including the likes of Staveley MW, Hucknall Town, AFC Mansfield, Sheffield FC and Hallam FC.
Matlock finished in 15th position in the Northern Premier League last season but will be hoping that Watson’s lethal touch in front of goal can help them onto better things during the next campaign.
