BARROW have brought in Dutch-born, New Zealand international Benjamin van den Broek following his most recent spell in Romania.
The Bluebirds have picked up four points from their five Vanarama National League fixtures so far and have moved to bolster their squad.
Midfielder van den Broek was born in the Netherlands but made his New Zealand debut against South Korea in March after qualifying through his mother.
He has previous experience in the English game following a season long spell at Shrewsbury Town back in 2010-11 in which he made 22 appearances and scored one goal.
After leaving the Shrews he returned to the Netherlands to sign for FC Den Bosch and spent four years at the club, scoring 16 times in 117 games.
He had a brief spell with Romania outfit Universitatea Cluj but left in May following their relegation from the country’s top flight.
The 27-year-old had been training with the Barrow squad at their Lancaster University training base and is in line to make his debut on Saturday against Southport at Holker Street.
