Gary Mills urges his Wrexham players to be ‘brave’

boss says his players must be “brave” if they are to break out of their poor run of form.

The Dragons fell to their fifth straight defeat on Saturday as they crashed out of the 1-0 at .

They’ve fallen down to 11th in the ahead of Saturday’s visit of Lincoln City – who themselves are winless in nine games.

Despite their tough run over the festive period, Mills’ men are only eight points adrift of the play-off places with 19 league games remaining.

The boss says he is working as hard as ever to turn his side’s fortunes around and has urged his charges not to hide away.

“Hard work during the week always helps but when it comes to Saturday and three o’clock, we’ve got to be big and brave enough to play the way we want to play,” he said.

“Hopefully we’ll get the break that we’re needing and get that win. can do this to you and you don’t lose five games without being not good enough.

“If you don’t win, you’ve got to not lose but at the moment we’re not even picking up draws. We should have got a 0-0 on Saturday but we were punished again.

“People can use the word pressure – I’m a football manager and my job is to win football matches. At the moment I’m losing football matches.

“I don’t like it – it’s the worst run I’ve ever had. It’s my job to do something about it and I’m not going to hide or do the job any differently. It’s a concern because we need to win and I feel for everybody at the club at the moment.

“As a manager you take the praise when you’re winning games and when you’re losing you have to take what comes with that. I’ve got to get my players up for Saturday and we’ve got to beat Lincoln. We’ve got 19 games to save our season, if you like, and get into that top five.”
