KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS will be hosting international football next month as Panjab FA and Jersey FA go head-to-head at Aggborough.
The game, on Sunday April 24, was confirmed this week after months of discussions between the National League club and the Panjab FA, who run a team to represent the Punjabi diaspora.
It will also celebrate the Sikh festival of Vaisakh and is going to be held in partnership with Kick It Out, The Football Supporters Federation and Punjabi Wolves.
The gates at Aggborough will be open from 1pm and a range of family activities including penalty shoot-outs, henna designs, face painting, music and dancing and a wide array of food and refreshment will be on site.
The Jersey FA representative side are managed by former Aston Villa, Darlington, Tranmere, Wrexham and boss Gainsborough Trinity Brian Little.
Earlier this year they announced their intentions to apply for UEFA membership rather than follow Guernsey‘s footsteps and enter the Engliish football Pyramid.
All Kidderminster season ticket holders will be admitted free of charge with adult tickets to watch the international exhibition match just £5 in advance.
Kelly Perks-Bevington, who has been responsible for planning the fixture, said: “In joining forces with Kick It Out, The Football Supporters Foundation and Punjabi Wolves we’re looking towards the future, and are excited at the prospect of staging a great variety of fixtures in the future.
“We believe truly that Kidderminster Harriers is at the heart of the community, and in bringing to Aggborough a diverse range of fixtures for all of our current and future fans, we’re ensuring that we remain the ideal venue for families not only on our own match day, but countless other occasions as well.”
