Shots Trust offered place on Aldershot Town board

A REPRESENTATIVE of The Shots Trust will be offered a seat on the board of club after months of discussions.

Both the club and trust believe the proposal will help their working relationship and help achieve their common goal of a stronger club that prospers both on and off the pitch.

The motion will be proposed at the Shots Trust’s AGM, held on Tuesday, May 17, for approval by Trust members.

Shots chairman Shahid Azeem, director Brian Bloomfield and all of the Shots Trust board members will be present at the meeting to explain the details and advantages of the proposal.

The Shots Trust was formed in 2006 before it merged with the well established Aldershot Supporters Club three years later, in the form of a Supporters Trust.

The merger was not an easy task as the Supporters Club had considerably more members and the majority of the Supporters Club’s committee was against the merger.

The Trust “aim to give fans a voice, as a democratic supporters trust, committed to strengthening this voice in the decision-making at the football club and also strengthening the links between the club and the community it serves.”
