RETURNING York City boss Gary Mills is hoping to bring assistant Darren Caskey to York City from his former club Wrexham.
Caskey had worked under Mills at Gateshead and then followed the boss to Wrexham in the summer of 2015.
However, Mills was sacked as manager of the Dragons last week following a poor start to the National League season.
Caskey remains under contract at the Racecourse and returned to the training pitch on Monday to help take the session alongside interim bosses Dean Keates, Joey Jones and Andy Davies.
However, the former Spurs midfielder could soon be following in the footsteps of Mills with the boss confirming his interest in the duo teaming up again at Bootham Crescent.
“I’m hoping, before Saturday if we can or if not next week, he’s going to come and join me,” Mills told BBC Radio York.
“Unfortunately he’s contracted at Wrexham at the moment so we’re having to go through that side of it.
“Darren Caskey has worked with me for the last couple of seasons and we work well together.”
