LINCOLN CITY boss Danny Cowley has picked up his first Manager of the Month award of the season, earning the accolade for October.
The Imps earned 14 National League points in the month, joint most with leaders Forest Green Rovers, and also made it through to the first round of the FA Cup to continue the club’s great start to the season.
Rovers weren’t left empty handed, however, with goalkeeper Sam Russell named the Player of the Month after a string of fine performances.
Russell was just 16 minutes away from equaling the League record of eight consecutive clean sheets. The run may have been ended at 744 minutes without conceding but it has helped Rovers maintain their great early season form.
In the National League North, Kevin Wilkin took home the Manager of the Month award after a great month for his Brackley Town side, including two FA Cup wins to set up a trip to League One side Gillingham.
The Player of the Month went to Darlington 1883’s Josh Gillies who has been instrumental in Darlo’s rise to second in the league.
Ex-Boreham Wood boss Ian Allinson was rewarded in the National League South with his St Albans City side picking up three wins and scoring 12 goals in October alongside two FA Cup victories.
And fresh off signing for League Two outfit Portsmouth, with the deal set to go through in January, Hampton & Richmond Borough forward Jamal Lowe was named the Player of the Month after three goals in the month for the Beavers.
