Kieffer Moore won’t rule out longer Torquay United stay following first career hat-trick

STRIKER Kieffer Moore says he wouldn’t rule out a longer stay at following his first career hat-trick on Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old is currently on a month’s loan from leaders and has scored four times in two games for the Gulls.

His treble on Tuesday against saw ‘s men pick up their first win in seven league games to leapfrog their visitors into 16th.

A former Torquay United youth academy player, Moore is enjoying his return to Plainmoor so far.

“That was my first hat-trick so I’m buzzing,” Moore told BBC Radio Devon. “I did have a good feeling, but it’s a great start and hopefully I can continue this form.

“I hope I can see the whole stint out and maybe more, you never know, but I’m enjoying it here, it’s brilliant.

“I was lacking that match sharpness, so a move to Torquay it was, but I don’t think I was lacking that much.”

The 6ft 5ins forward impressed while playing for and before earning a move to , then in the Championship, in 2013.

He played 20 times for the Glovers in the second tier and made 30 appearances the season after in League One before moving abroad.

Moore signed for Viking FK, based in the Norwegian port city of Stavanger, but returned to British shores in January after just 11 appearances to sign for Forest Green.

He has scored four times for Rovers this season and made his debut last week in Estonia as he looks to “rebuild” his reputation.

“My career’s taken a funny turn, maybe going out to Norway didn’t help that, so in a sense I’ve had to rebuild myself and this is part of that,” he said.

“This is all for my career and hopefully I’ll get back to those (Yeovil) heights one day and prove that I am that Championship player and maybe better.”

Delighted Torquay boss Nicholson added: “The front lads overall have been working hard but it just not been going their way. It’s great for Kieffer to come in and benefit from that.

“It’s for the others tnow to see that as a challenge. Who wants to be the top goal scorer? Who wants to out-shoot Kieffer at this point? I’m very pleased for him and the impact that he has had.”
