JOHN STILL has made his first signing as manager of Luton Town, bringing in Maidenhead United striker Alex Wall in on loan.
Wall has bagged 13 goals for the Magpies this season, including five goals in five games in February, a feat that earned him the Blue Square Bet South Player of the Month award.
The 22-year-old, who was with Thatcham before joining Maidenhead, will spend the remainder of the season at Kenilworth Road and is expected to sign a permanent deal when the campaign comes to a close.
Speaking about the signing, Hatters boss Still said: “I had Alex on trial last year at Dagenham but he got injured. He went back to Maidenhead and has done well. I’ve always kept an eye on him.
“He’s a young, ambitious, hungry player with great ability. Alex will need time and help, but he has terrific potential. I hope he’ll go onto a enjoy a very good career at Luton Town.
“He’s what you might call a centre-forward. He’s not a ‘striker’ or a ‘number 10’, he’s a centre-forward. He’s a good striker of the ball, he’s strong and he works hard.
“Alex is in good form, but the key for me is potential. He has the the potential to be a really, really good player.”
