FRONTMAN Adam Somes has had his Mansfield Town contract terminated by mutual consent.
The 19-year-old was top scorer for the Stags’ youth team in 2011/12 but has left Field Mill to pursue a career coaching in America.
Speaking about the teenager’s departure, Mansfield boss Paul Cox said: “Adam came in last week and had a chat with me. He has options to become a teacher and a coach, and he also wants to play football.
“If this is the career he now wants to pursue then we don’t want to stand in his way at all. Therefore, we wish him all the best of luck for the future.”
