BEN WRIGHT and Warren Feeney made their Salisbury City debuts on Wednesday night and enjoyed a 3-1 victory over League Two club Portsmouth.
Wright joined the Whites yesterday having spent last season on the books of Forest Green Rovers, while also spending time on loan at Braintree Town.
The 24-year-old, who also includes Basingstoke, Hampton & Richmond and Peterborough among his former clubs, started the game with Pompey but failed to get on the scoresheet despite a couple of good efforts.
However, Feeney, who joined the club as their new player-assistant manager over the weekend, did get off the mark for the Whites.
The former Northern Ireland international found the back of the net with a first-half header to put his side 2-0 up.
Dan Fitchett added a third before Pompey grabbed a consolation eight minutes from time.
The Whites’ next pre-season fixture sees them welcome another League Two side – Bristol Rovers – to the Raymond McEnhill Stadium on Friday night.
