GOALKEEPER Jonathan Hedge has left Cambridge United and joined Grimsby Town.
The 25-year-old joined the U’s from Tamworth last summer and started the 2012/13 season as their first-choice stopper.
However, he fell out of favour around the turn of the year and featured just once for them in 2013.
He spent a spell on loan at Southport towards the back end of the campaign and has now left the Abbey by mutual consent and linked up with Cambridge’s Conference Premier rivals Grimsby.
A statement on the Cambridge United website said: “Cambridge United would like to thank Jonathan for his service to the club and wish him well for the future.”
The former England C keeper goes straight into the Mariners’ squad for their friendly with Hull City on Friday evening.
