CAMBRIDGE UNITED have made a triple swoop to bring in two midfielders and a goalkeeper.
Joining the table-topping U’s on loan from League One side Carlisle United is Josh Gillies.
Gilles, 23, is familiar with Conference Premier football, having scored 15 times in 45 appearances for Gateshead last season.
Karl Ledsham is another player with plenty of Step 1 experience and joins Cambridge from their league rivals Southport.
The 26-year-old has made over 100 appearances for the Sandgrounders over the past three seasons, including 17 this term.
Both midfielders joins Richard Money’s side on loan until January.
The third new arrival at the Abbey is Jason Brown.
The 31-year-old stopper has penned a short-term deal with the U’s following his release from Championship side Ipswich Town.
Brown’s previous clubs include Gillingham, Blackburn Rovers and Aberdeen and he has represented Wales on three occasions.
Meanwhile, United midfielder Luke Allen is expected to join Hemel Hempstead Town on loan and Scott Garner has extended his loan deal with Boston United until the end of the season.
