HOLT UNITED stay top following a 1-0 home win over Wincanton Town.
Their victory came courtesy of an own goal from Luke Stephens in the 65th minute. It was only Wincanton’s second defeat of the season and they remain in the top three.
Portland United stay second, four points adrift of Holt but with three games in hand following their 2-0 success against Weymouth Reserves. Both Portland’s strikes came in the second half, Carl Mutch and Adam Linaker getting on the scoresheet.
Hamworthy Recreation are fourth place after hammering Chickerell United 5-1. Carl Chivers and Joe Wood both bagged braces and Rikki Walden added his side’s fifth. The Chickens’ consolation goal coming from Daniel Austin.
Tintinhull hoisted themselves up into fifth place with a 3-1 win over Swanage Town & Herston. On target for Tintinhull were Adam Hugill, Jonathan Delahaye and Adam Clements, while netting for the Swans was Robert Teppett.
Bridport Reserves stay in the top eight despite dropping two points after a 2-2 draw with Blandford Town. Jack Scovell and Thomas Richardson scored for Blandford, while netting for the Royals were Joseph Baker and Oli Wareham.
Parley Sports returned to winning ways with a single-goal win against their visitors Poole Borough. Tobias Holmes scored just before half time to inflict Poole’s 19th defeat of the campaign and keep them in the bottom two.
Hamworthy United Reserves and Wareham Rangers shared the points in a 2-2 draw. The Hammers’ goals coming from Luke Geddis in the 10th minute and a penalty conversion from Dan Manual in the 75th minute. Netting for Wareham were Steven Yeates after seven minutes and Paul Best two minutes from time.
Cranborne won their seventh game, beating Shaftesbury Town 3-2.Dan Loader scored twice for Cranborne, whose other goal came from Oli Hepworth. On target for Shaftesbury were Callum Bent and Marc Harvey.
Merley Cobham Sports moved further away from the bottom two with a 5-1 success against their visitors from Sherborne Town Reserves. Bradley Asagba gave Merley a fourth-minute lead but Sherborne equalised just three minutes later. Further goals from Craig Barnett, Joshua Reavenall-Nuete, Bradley Kendrick and James Shering then secured the win for Sports.
